I bought some lovely Models Own nail polish the other day, and it’s nearing Christmas so of course the more shimmery and glittery the better. these two aren’t particularly strong colours but sometimes it’s nice to be wearing slightly more subtle ones.I’m the first one to admit my nails are by no means the nicest in the world but I can still play about with some colours here and there, can’t I?

I’ve used two here the under coat is called Indian Ocean, I can’t quite decide weather it’s pink, blue, purple or all three. it’s not very strong so two coats at least.

The second is snowflakes. filled with little snowy bits of glittery goodness. These flecks change from gold to silver in different lights, just to keep you on your toes.

prIt’s December and it’s time for all things Christmassy! (I don’t think Chritmassy is a word)

I’m working so much at the moment with two jobs at the weekend and college five days a week i haven’t had the time to feel very festive. But we had an early Christmas at home today with some of my mums family coming round. My cousin got to decorate the tree yesterday while i was working :( I’ve done it every year. Looks like I’m getting too old for Christmas. Where did the magic go!!!? I just managed to get my present wrapped this morning in time for the proceedings! oops!

We did the typical Christmas event with full roast, with all the trimmings, presents and afternoon nap! I got some great presents from my family, they clearly know what I like. Some lovely body shop things so I can now smell like a walking talking chocolate bar, two amazing fashion books on the 50’s and 60’s, some sweet little nail varnishes, a lovely french connection beret and some glittery glitter soap handmade by my little cousin. So my love for chocolate, fashion, beauty products and GLITTER! have all been catered for. (damn I love glitter)

The books are amazing full of inspiring photos, style icons and designers of the times and are perfect for some contextual research I’m doing at the moment.

So after being out of blogging action for several months once again due to a lack of camera equipment, I am having withdrawal symptoms So I’ve had a fiddle around with some timer apps on my phone and voi la! it’s acceptable! (although i may have some lighting issues)

so having missed out on many summer outfit posts it’s straight back in with the warm coats and thermal tights. This coat was a steal at £5 from a charity shop. It’s warm, waterproof and has an interesting floral pattern. Although with the wrong things there may be a teeny tiny chance i could look middle aged.

I love my skirt shiny shiny! Like a mermaid tale. I’m like a magpie seeking out glitter and sparkles it’s not good for me I’m telling you. I could lead to some outrageous buys like that damn headdress again. oops!

beauty wise I’m seeing a lot of yellow or green nails around lately and i must say I like. Preferably neon yellow though otherwise… well… we won’t go into that.

Also the Pansy (Cat) wanted to get involved. Yes, I know she’s huge. She’s on I diet I swear.

Had My first night out in Bristol last night and popped off down...

Had My first night out in Bristol last night and popped off down to the harbour fest with with my lovely gillies; Danni (top photo, left) and Hollie (top photo, middle). Was a good night. got a lift down the river on a dingy and chilled on a friends house boat. loved it.

My outfit was pretty casual, my wardrobe staple black Lycra leggings and an oversized shirt. The shirt was my grandma’s old one made of genuine Thai silk it’s huge but the fabric has such a nice luster to it. I’ve tucked it under and into my bra to make it cropped otherwise I would just be swimming in silk and although I love silk there can be too much of a good thing. And of course my old faithful leather jacket.

I’ve got a real thing for hats lately I don’t know what it is. I now own several beanies, yes I know not the season but let be honest summer didn’t turn up so neither did my summer wardrobe. I have designs to unnessesarily spend stupid amounts of money on my very own authentic bowler hat and maybe even a little pork pie hat. We shall see. This little straw one I stole form a friends but I think it’s adorable.

Finally these black platforms are my friend Hollie’s But i have to say i think they’re amazing. A cheaper alternative to the creeper these she picked up from New Look for just £19.99. Love a girl who knows a bargain when she sees one.

My feet have found their true home. It’s been a long time wanting but finally I have mustered up my money and bought my self the most beautiful pair of creepers.

It was love at first sight when i saw these soft suede lilac creepers on eBay, for the low price of £19.99. Form that moment I knew my feet and them were destined to be together! soon enough with pastel coloured love they arrived on my door step today! No one shall ever say I am over dramatic.

These beauties add an extra 1.5” to my height making a grand total of 5ft10.5” but despite already being annoyingly tall I’m vow to wear these often, through sickness and in health, till death do us part.

I’m back! Up and running once again. I now have a camera at home that is just about usable and my computer has been fully repaired after taking an issue with me and refusing to turn on.

I’m feeling so comfortable in myself lately, and it’s great. I’m willing to get really creative with what I wear now which feels so nice I must say. I hardly ever where this skirt but it felt just right with this outfit. I teamed it up with the red dress underneath, (yes it’s a dress not a top) which had become so short I fear people will see my breakfast if I wear it by it’s self. Either I’ve grown or it’s shrunk I don’t know.

The gold belt ties the two colours together a bit more and to add that detail I love I’ve put my gold necklace round my waist. I don’t like it as a necklace really I think it’s a bit cheap, and knowing it’s a Primark buy just emphasises the cheapness but round the waist is more unusual and interesting.

I love my leather bag to, so so much, but as it’s untreated real leather it STINKS!!! I can’t stand the smell of it. It’s even worse in the rain. If you’ve ever smelt wet dog it’s 100 x worse URGH! Therefore it rarely leaves my loft but every now and then I give it a well deserved outing just so it doesn’t feel left out.

Hand a few new buys lately and things form friends, particullary as it was my 18th last month. I’ll post them up soon enough.

I really do not like using my webcam but I have no other choice. all the details are horribly blurry. humph!

Anyway i had to wear one of my new shirts I just couldn’t wait. limited colour scheme and silver jewellery. I’m not a fan of gold. The silver chain you can just see in the second picture is one a friend gave me ages ago for my birthday but i never knew what to do with it. I know it’s not obvious in the whole outfit but the little details are always what show you’ve made that little bit of extra effort i think.

I’m lacking a camera lately since my house mate moved out so you’re going to have to put up with my web cam until i can arrange to get something better.

Once again I’ve been raiding the charity shops. I got these three shirts today, not that i need any more shirts in my wardrobe. In total I spent about £11 on the three which is better than Primark.

The black and white stripped one is originally a DIVIDED shirt and is really nicely fitted. It panders to my love of black and white and I think could be worn in lots of different ways.

The second shirt is actually a mans shirt originally from BHS but is really nice quality. It’s a little on the large side but tucked in will look fine. Pastel and ice cream colours are every where at the moment so it’s perfect. I want to make a few edits to the colour in terms of some embellishment but I’ll up date you when that happens.

The final shirt is originally a Charmant shirt and is so so comfortable. Again it’s rather large but this was defiantly a comfort over fit buy.

It’s the Easter holidays! I love the feeling of knowing I have two weeks of college now. Final exam prep will be taking up lots of time though. My sewing machine is broken at the moment another thing on my to do list.

You’re probably about to think I’m an absolute Imbecile, and I wish I could tell you I had perfect reasoning to buy this head piece, I wish I could tell you it was for a special occasion such as a fancy dress party, to which I may have worn this to and was complimented throughout the night on the amazing piece. But I am afraid that I must confess I bought this purely on a Whim. I think It’s amazing don’t get me wrong, but I do find my self questioning whether there was something else I could have spent my £67 pounds on which I may have got more wear from. yep, that’s right, £67, I will at this point, point out that it was reduced form £90, I’m not totally irresponsible with my money.

For all the reasons I shouldn’t have bought this I do not regret it. Who knows maybe there will be a fancy dress party that I can justify wearing it to and I will be continuously complimented on it, then we’ll see whether it was worth it. I think the sheer impact this piece creates is amazing and yes in an ideal world I would wear it day to day but this is not an ideal world and this is far too impractical.

I think there has been only one day since I got this coat that I haven’t actually worn it, it’s become part of me. I even got complimented on it by someone in Harvey Nicholas yesterday and that is a compliment for a girl who lives pretty much in second hand clothes.

Had a really nice day in Bristol, shopping with my friends and bought some beautiful new jeans.

I finished college early today so decided to go and do some well deserved retail therapy. I love a good charity shop and could quite happily live in one, as long as you know where to look and what to look for. I found these two tops today:

The green and shimmery one at the top was £3.99 and it reminds me of mermaids, although you can;t quite tell in the picture.

The red silk shirt was also just £3.99 and I love it. Just the other day I was dribbling over the ones in urban outfitters, this one was about £20 cheaper WOOO! It’s an XL but I’m sure I’ll style it up one way or another.

So it’s just getting to the end of this cold cold winter and only now do I have a warm jacket, but it’s beautiful. Popped into a clothes swap shop in fish ponds, Bristol, on Friday and found this amazing jacket for £50. The original RRP £350, this is why i love second hand.

The bow tie is one of my dads, I think bow ties are adorable even though they often have a rep as being cliché. Taught my self to tie it and it’s not that difficult.

Back at college tomorrow, need two weeks off :(. When do Easter holidays start?

Just a quick one today. Spent the day with my parents which was really nice having family time and visited the M Shed in Bristol to see the Norman Parkinson exhibition they have at the moment. Definitely worth a look.

Anyway these are some jeans I found in American Apparel the other day whilst browsing (I have no money, poor student alert), and I fell in love. I’m so so sorry I haven’t posted in so long I’ve had an interesting few weeks. Exams just finished and I sprained my knee and was on crutches for a week and a bit and I’ve had my fashion coursework deadline to catch up with and get done but I’ll try and get back on top of things. Anyway It’s half term this week and a well needed rest.

So not in my usual skirt or dress today but in trousers, practical reasons of course, I had my first driving lesson today so wasn’t feeling skirt. Got these high waisted jeans at Topshop recently, it’s true I would have liked them to be slightly higher but I don’t know weather that’s because I’m tall and these are meant for normal highted people, but they are really comfy . Of course you’ve all seen my boy George top before but I have to say it again I LOVE it.

Now I’m sure there is something else special about today, oh that right it’s valentines day, happy valentines everyone.

So rather than a typical outfit post I thought I’d do something a little different.

Above are some pictures of one of my favourite models of the moment, Freja Beha Erichsen. She has had a particularly successful 2011 and is set to keep on appearing around the world in 2012. She is 24 years old and id from Denmark. She was first spotted in 2005 in the typical fairytale way, casually walking down the street and a taxi drives by just happening to contain a prolific model agent. she was plucked off the street then and there.

She has walked for countless people from Chanel and Prada to the more obscure such as Sonia Rykiel. Her most recent widely exposed campaign is H&M’s 2011 summer advertisement, as seen above.

I love her look and hope to see her in many more shoots and on many more catwalks in 2012.

I’m so happy my Boy George T-shirt arrived today. This epitomises my love of camp 80’s music and all things a little creepy! Order this from the Victoria and Albert museums online shop after visiting there latest post-modernism exhibition back in December. the closest they had to my size was a large ( 2 sizes too big -_-) but my love for this image couldn’t stop me!

Feeling horribly ill at the moment with the flu but i always have Tumblr to make my day better.

I was feeling a little playful today so got out my grandma’s old Thai silk shirt. It’s so big that it instantly looks like a kimono on me and has to lend it’s self to a Geisha look. Tie a fabulous large wait belt round the middle and voi la the basic little geisha look. I’ve put the necklace round the belt as well just to add a little more detail, it’s only a little thing form Primark but instantly makes the look a little more interesting. My little teddy backpack was given to me by my grandma a long time ago and it’s just cute! also this gave me the perfect excuse to put on my beautiful new shoes!

back to college tomorrow and one more exam left. lets hope it goes better than the last one.
